THE TEST
tomorrow on Wednesday 6th of November we get THE TEST and its not just any test it's a test to get into the extension class! And i'm super duper nervous about it and i worry that it could be to hard. But Leo my big bro says he DEFINITELY thinks i'll make it in although he didn't!

Weekend Super Travels part 1

If you are in my class you would know i wasn't at school on Friday 1st November and you might have wondered why, well here's the story top to bottom...

The story starts waking up and well i'm not very good at that so it took longer! yesterday i thought dad said we would go at midday, but it turns out he meant we would arrive at  Christchurch at midday, but that was about to change.

After packing we drove to the nelson airport and checked in to the front desk and the woman there greeted us with a friendly 'hello' and my dad said 'oh hi we'( dad Leo and i )'are going in the flight NZ8511' but she replied with'oh...yes well we have been trying to get in contact with you all morning but your phone was engaged' ( CORRECTION: actually broken.)'and the flights been cancelled!'

'So how can we get there now?'asked dad.'well your quickest bet is to go to Auckland.'

Opportunity

'what one do i choose?" i questioned myself aloud ,(you see i was in a very confusing situation that i couldn't get myself out of and i am pretty darn good at that.) But before skipping ahead of yourself let me start from the most important place from my point of view the begging. My name is Alice (not the one in wonderland.) i am 11 years old with a 7 year old sister Matilda and no shes not from Roald Dahl's book. Lastly my younger brother Samuel who is 4 but everyone calls him Sam for short. We live in Battle river but i call it Bunny river because all the bunnies big and small have their burrows next to the river. Anyhow my mum Sally explained "Alice go with Matilda and collect some fire wood ... please."Now keep this in mind but my favorite animal is bunnies. As i was saying ... me and my sister went down to collect some firewood when i gasped in horror when i sighted the river had flooded. I sprinted down as fast as a cheetah,i took off my jacket and plunged into the ice cold water. I started to lose hope. Then i saw a baby Bunnie moving. It was alive!

Camp

Is coming up and i personally am head over heals exited 1 reason is because i heard a rumor that for a night we get to sleep in tents!

The Titanic

During the speech comp i did my speech on the Titanic because i want the story to live and so people understand thought is never always right.

First i opened my speech with a hook to grab my listeners attention: Today i would like to talk to you about the Titanic and ask you to take a moment to think about the people who lost there life's that day...Imagine your sailing on the grandest ship of its time the Titanic.

Next i did the story step by step in time aka a time line.From the making, to the deaths and the discovery.

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland is my favorite movie EVER it is the BEST and i 100% recommend it which i am so happy that we're doing it for our theme in the mask parade! here's a little preview!

When Alice (Mia Wasikowska) fall's down a giant rabbit hole she finds herself in the same dream she has every night were she meets wonderful wacky friends like the white rabbit (Micheal Sheen) mad hatter (Jonny Depp) the white queen (Ann Hathaway) the red Queen (Helena Bonhem Carter) and the cheashir cat (Stephen Fry) all have an amazing adventure. my class and i are the red Queens cards.

Writers Dash poem FRIENDSHIP

Friendship is strong,

The church of good shepherds(back-story of dog)

Mackenzie's famous sheep dog
  This dog is no ordinary dog he has quite a sad story... 

James Mackenzie was a Shepherd but not with his own sheep ,you see he taught his dog (above) to round up sheep without barking so once the other shepherd's have gone to sleep at the houses lights were all switched off. His dog would sneakily round up the sheep and take them to his master, James Mackenzie. But as this happened the other Shepherd's became more suspicious and noticed his sheep had the same shape of legs ,tummy etc that their old sheep used to have.The only way that they figured to make him stop was to put down his dog ,but he still stands in Tekapo NZ next to the Church of Good Shepherd. Funny that because that dog was involved with a bad Shepherd. If your thinking of going he's worth the wait also maybe look at Mackenzie's country.

    

Fantasy Adventure! Part 1

"Why did i do it?!?." "i don't know where i am anymore one minute ago i was in Mrs Washington's class but now i have no idea where i am. Let me explain myself well it started... on a sunny Friday in Straitville the point of its name is because all of the streets our strait and its the mayors name.Anyhow as i Matilda Joseph skipped to school it wasn't the same. there was a crowd (about 20 people.) When i got over there someone had spray-painted in big bold letters: THIS SCHOOL SUCKS. Ring! the bell went as i was on my way to class i saw something golden in the river so  i ran over to check it out. i got it out of the river "oh its just one of those plastic lamps, what next a fake jeanie comes out." (i didn't believe in magic) Suddenly a Jeanie came out and yelled "you calling me plastic."Then i replied "me, no" After that he just explained fine you have three wishes and you have until sun down. next i hurred into class. For the whole day we were learning about greek gods:Selene (Godess of the moon) Zues (God of gods and lighting) Iris (godess of the rainbow) posioden (god of the sea) Hades (god of the underworld) Demeter (godess of harvest and grain) and more.RING the lunch time bell went ; i spent my whole lunch time in the libary. As i went back into the class i said "i wish i was a greek god..." But the Jeanie was still there!!! 

Cats

In Cats I have no main part instead me and my friend Eliza are Kittens. Based on the book The Book of practical cats by TS Elliot. We are both very happy that we got the part(although no one didn't get in.)  It was so fun to do it with the audience. My favorite songs were: Mr mistoflees , jellicle songs for jellicle cats, mungojerry and rumpleteser,Rum Tum Tugger and skimbleshanks.

kensuke's kingdom

Not to long ago my teacher(Fiona) finished an amazing book called"Kensukes kingdom"which was an amazing adventurous book featuring Gibbons, islands, dogs, friends, imagination, turtles, and much more.Micheal is an 11 year old boy with his mum dad and Stella (his dog) with there new boat (the Peggy sue) one night when Micheal and Stella were on deck and there parents in the cabin when Micheal and Stella fell over board and in the morning came across a strange island with no food on it one morning Micheal saw Stella with a bone in her mouth and some food for Micheal.Who put that there? Is someone else on this island? Are they a friend or foe? find out in Michael Moporgo's  Kensuke's kingdom

My dog Charlie

Charlie was like a brother to me we did everything together.We got him from trade me but he was born in Auckland so he flied down here. I remember getting him from the airport and all the flight staff were surrounding him but i do not blame them he was pretty cute then.He was quit shy at first but he fitted in nicely.As you can see from this picture that before we gave him a trim around his eyes he used to walk into signposts. He was half poodle half golden retriever and the poodle made him not shed which was good.And whenever he saw us holding the lead or attaching it to his collar he would get all exited and spin around in circles and then dad would get him all hipped up and he would growl and that would just make me burst out laughing. And he would always be there for me when i cried,when i was scared and just to have a hug by the fire. He would always make me laugh. he was more than just a friend he was more of a brother and i remember the time Mum, Dad Janine(our student),Leo and i were at Pakawau and he just had so much fun on the beach. As you can imagine i was heart broken when i heard we had to put charlie down due to Peritonitis which is when the stomach splits open and all his acid attacks his body and over a period of time that acid could be destroy anything. so we had to put him down 2 weeks ago to get him out of his misery.   

New Jersy Devil

There have been sightings of him in new jersy woods. he is explained with the feet of a horse the head of a goat and the wings of a bat. There have been many sightings some one explained there were horse foot prints on there roof. and a woman said it was attacking her dog so she went out and attacked it with the broom.

Chubacabra

The Chubacabra is a very faumouse mystery he is belived to be a wolf with big torns and bold patches in his fur and eats the goats in paddocs in Puerto rico.
